Mike, in your ini file look in the [TRAJ] section for LINEAR_UNITS

But in world the stepper motors are noisy

That might be because the [TRAJ] Max acceleration value is 50 but the axis accelerations are 10.
In World mode the [TRAJ] limit is used. I suggest making them all match.

I would like to switch my measurement units over to inches if that's possible.

It is possible, but will require you to alter all the acceleration and scale numbers.
It is probably much easier to leave the machine set up in metric but to issue a G20 command in the MDI. That will switch the G-code to inches.
You can also choose "Display inches" from the Axis interface "View" menu.

I changed the linear_units to in but it is still in mm?

I changed the max acceleration to 10.

The machine will run but when jogging the A-B in world mode I getting a joint 3 and joint 4 following error?

Thanks

What is still in mm?
There are three things that can independently be in inches or mm.
The machine base units, those are set in the INI file.
The Display, that is set in Axis (View->show units)
The G-code interpreter (set by G20, G21).

The Display and G-code units are independent from the machine setup. Those will have defaulted to metric when the configuration first started up.
Change them to Inches and they will stay that way.

I changed the max acceleration to 10.

This is probably because your velocities and accelerations are now in inches.
You need to divide the velocities and accelerations by 25 if you have changed the machine units.

I changed everything to inches, Thanks.

I am still getting the joint: 3 and 4 following error when I stop jogging in world mode. As long as you keep it jogging you can go as fast as you want. It only alarms out when you stop. Any ideas?

This seems to generally be because [TRAJ] DEFAULT_ACCELLERATION is higher than [AXIS_N] STEPGEN_MAX_ACCELLERATION

My guess would be that you changed the numbers in the axis parts of the INI, but not the ones in the [TRAJ] section.

I went from a small problem to a bigger one I was trying to make the units inches and the home position 0 and now when I go to world mocde or mdi the machine tries to move way to fast. I have attached the config files and I am using my-mill inin and hotwinch hal.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

Are the scale values correct? How did you calculate them?

I used the values out of the stepconf wizard. I will try and change them and see what happens.
