19K1 can only be activated when 7A1 is on. We can’t get out of estop with indramat off with the current wiring

As soon as you push the start button, the Indramat energises, and closes 7A1 Bb1-Bb2. Without a CNC-Ready signal, it will stop as soon as you release SH-1 = [Start Button] = [E-Stop Release]

However, if LinuxCNC is already trying to close 19K1 before you push SH-1, then the system should latch on when you push it.

At that point the Indramat is energised, but with it's outputs disabled. The addition relay 19K2 I added will then enable the Indramats outputs when it's button is pushed.

I'll try this by simulating the "CNC_ Ready" signal with a jumper between terminal 209 and +24V at terminal 200. When I push the start button, the system should then latch on.

I agree that we need to feed the 209 from linuxcnc as soon the controller is on, and close that as soon ther is a fault. With little research we will find the appropriate pin for this job. But even if you simulate the cnc ready (24 volt to 209). The 24 volt is not going to pass the 7A1 Bb1-Bb2 to energize the 19K1. Because the 7A1 is closed only when the idramat is on with no faults.

But there is a chance the 7A1 Bb1-Bb2 is closing as soon the indramat gets power and the enable signal is not necessary for 7A1

In this case we will have the most elegant solution.

That is what I was basing this idea on. I am pretty sure that is the behaviour I observed when I was playing around with the MAHO before removing the Phillips.

According to Page 9 section 2.11 of the Indramat manual, the contact Bb1-Bb2 is only monitoring the internal control voltage. If the control voltage drops below 14.5V then that relay drops out.

While running, I was thinking about the CNC-Ready signal. I guess rather than just a dumb signal which is set true as soon as LinuxCNC is up and running, we could use a double pole switch as Top RH button to both act as SH-1, but also as the standard Gmocchapy Top RH button, and use that signal to set the "CNC_Ready" output pin.

So we press this button once (keep pressing) and the Linux outputs NC ready while the other contact enables the entire machine. Once we press again, the NC ready from the Linux goes off (209 is off) and the machine goes to estop condition. The same button activates and deactivates. Brilliant.

I just tried out that wiring on the MAHO. The Indramat ready relay 7A1 Bb1-Bb2 closes as soon as you switch on the cabinet main switch K1. I was a little surprised by that, but had missed the Phase L1 and L2 going into the Indramat with 1.5mm² wires to pins R and S directly, in addition to the big 6mm² wires going in through the E-Stop Relays. It is shown on drawing 04. So that start wiring we talked about should work fine.

However, I reinstalled the E-Stop buttons S1 and start button SH-1, but the SH-1 is not closing the E-Stop relays. so I couldn't test jumpering terminal 200 to 209. I need to figure out why that isn't working.

you probably have removed the maho pendant, and the estop on it is not closing the circuit to activate the K1. So the circuit for 7K1, 7K2, 7K3 can’t activate.

Good news for the 7A1 Bb1-Bb2
