Hey guys,
I'm completely new here, but I read all your comments in this thread, and it is impressive how you work! You are doing exactly this, what I'm dreaming about! Maybe some day I'm also able to do a.retrofit on a Maho. I'm following your work, you already have a fan!
Looking forward to see your machines working, for sure they will do their jobs great!
greetings from Italy!

I installed that 204-264 jumper to replace the S3 Pendant E-Stop, and installed a switch to simulate the NC-Ready circuit between terminals 200-209.
The behavior is exactly as we discussed in this post.

This works fine.

Hi guys, Bernd welcome to the club.
Good news with the test. This weekend I will check the estop and others circuits to detect any modification from the previous owner. I have found the perfect spot for spindle encoder if the encoder at the motor won’t work for rigid taping. I will put a pulley in there
And I will drive another pulley above with timing belt. This way i can use it for the horizontal spindle too

As for Stig's choices on the retrofit I totally agree with you. All the big companies like Mazak, Mori, Deckel, and many others, they dint just take the best component existed the time they made the machines and just put them together. The designers have spent countless hours to make the right compromises. Today’s machines with vector drives to archive similar torque at low rpm with the geared spindles of the past, have 20, 30 Kw motors. For me the only reason to remove that masterpiece of engineering is to put it to my living room. But this is just my opinion, every person things and wants different things.

Looks like you modelled that in Catia. Nice. So is there an access panel there, and you mount the encoder on the panel, or do you have to some surgery on the casting?
Your 600E is incredibly clean.
I have a busy weekend replacing the lounge balcony door and windows, so I won't have much chance to make progress on the MAHO.
I did find a few minutes to finish wiring up the 5V PSU (6T2) and the "Drive enable" relay (19K2).
