to get into the setup menu on Gmoccapy the code is 123 (or 1234). I don't think it will do you much good though, the min resolution on gmoccapy is 979 x 750, To change it, it must be rewritten using the glade editor. (there is a tutorial here
Gmoccapy 800x480 in Spanish.)

Did you try the Mini or TKlinuxcnc UIs?

You might find this manual-page handy:
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/config/ini-config.html

Will let display issues rest and trying to solve other problems.
My lathe is homing in wrong direction, want it to have X/Z on my right-hand against me and set machine 0 there as I am used to do so.
Sorry to say but I can not wrap my head around this, so can you guys help me out.
Jogging with arrow keys on keyboard *tool* is moving as arrows, DRO's show correct 'direction'.
Puzzled Mach user trying to get this working, step by step I will get to my goal and be running LCNC on my lathe.
Cheers
Bengt

Configure the Z axis so that 0 is tailstock end and chuck end is - (however many units of your choice)
Then set the home_search velocity positive.
Though: my previous lathe homed X first to max diameter then homed towards the chuck. That meant I didn't have to worry about moving the tailstock out of the way (the current lathe can home without moving)

That is what I am trying to do, but where to set these numbers?
There must some place to tell the system to home X towards me and Z to tailstock.
Is it in INI or in HAL? Can not find any documentation specifying how to do this.

I think that you should be able to put in the required numbers in stepconf, or you can edit the INI.
Have you found this page, where all the docs are listed?
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/
The stepconf documentation mentions making the home search velocity negative to change the homing direction:
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/config/stepco...#_axis_configuration
There is rather more detail on the subject here:
linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/config/ini-homing.html

Yes I have found all those pages, but as a bloody foreigner with other native language it is very hard to read these documents that are so --- how should I put it, do not get me wrong here --- complex thus not easy to read and understand.
"home search velocity negative to change the homing direction" this is what I was looking for and hopefully I can get this working now.
Will test this right away now.
