give it a try now.
password is cnc

i had to ctrl-alt-f1 at the login prompt in order to run raspi-config to expand the filesystem, after that it worked great.

if you run the test configuration, it'll use the gpio header

xdir=3, xstep=5, ydir=7, ystep=11, zdir=13, zstep=15

Sorry, but my 16Gb SD card is not big enough for that image.

I used a 32Gb SD card...

So far so good.
I can not login in the graphics login window.

ctrl+alt+F1 and I can login.

So how can I get the graphics to work?

A quick trip to WallMart and about 12 bucks a copy fixes that, get a 64GB in either Samsung or PNY brands.

I decided long ago that having room enough to let the u-sd wear leveler work was one way to prolong the life of the card. I've had SanDisk 100% failures at 8 and 16 GB, but I've had zero failures of either 32GB or 64GB if i stick to SamSung or PNY.

The last thing you need is to have it go read-only when you've only got a step or three to a working setup. Head that one off at the starting gate.

Cheers, Gene Heskett

Sorry no Walmart over here in Sweden and a flight to US and back home tends to be a little extensive for an old fart like me with a very low pension ;)
