There is no license. Anyone can copy this project and add any own license. And then he can sue me for the unlicensed use of his (my) codeBari wrote: @MX_Master I noticed that you have not chosen a license yet for your source. What are your intentions for this? gitlab.com/orangecnc

edit: there were complaints that there were lost steps. When i examined the code I did not see use of dirsetup or dirchange. So I went back to JMK's original parport stepgen module. I have not compiled it for aris yet. Do you have direction for how to build new arsic modules?
Thanks

New driver has dir-hold / dir-setup pins. Also `direction change` is already hardcoded into new ARISC firmware.tjtr33 wrote: MX_Master, thanks for still working on this. I have been working on a new arisc stepgen and aric gpio. Is there anything I can help with? I have Opi+2e and Tek scope. I am familiar with the original code (JMK) but very new at your structure of using the ports ( more i/o than on the 40 pin header! nice ).

At the moment I'm working on encoder part of the new driver. Firmware's part of encoder is already done.
No coding help is needed. Just wait a bit

That's not quite how it works, unfortunately. If you want to release your code into the public domain free of all restrictions then it is best if you actually declare that to make it clear.
FWIW the original LinuxCNC code from NIST was released "Public Domain"
Please just add a statement that releases the code as "Public Domain" or "GPL" and then LinuxCNC (and others) will be clear on what they are allowed to do with it.
Basically you own the code by default, and unless you state otherwise it is not free for others to use.
