In short: here , a bit farther away, on my desktop computer
But: It really needs to be updated in several aspects:
- Latency is not added to the hw file due to change of latency-test output format (solved, but not yet publically available)
- Cannot read AMD based temperature data (partially solved)
- struggles on raspberry pi at several places (partially solved)
- Sometimes fails to invoke vimeo video streaming (not solved yet)
- Needs an extension to do some heavy disc io (draft ready, but really not yet alpha state)

seuchato,
tried it out. very interesting.
when the latency test is run, is it running with both base and servo threads?
My system is pure servo without a base thread.
would be nice if there could be a fairly easy way to run only a servo thread, even if it means modifying the code a bit......
just a thought.
thanks.

You can run just servothread. There is an option in a dialog at the beginning of the script. Check again, I am pretty sure you'll find the drill. But I really should write a short manual. However I am trying in vain to stretch a day to 48 hours.

Hi guys,
I am just getting going with LinuxCNC and am enjoying the journey so far. I have been building PCs for a good part of my life, but this is my first foray into Linux.
Forgive me if this has been answered, but can this latency script be run in LinuxCNC Live or does it have to be an installed version on hard drive? I have about a dozen computers sitting on the floor of my office waiting for testing, hoping not to have to install it 12 times to run the tests.
The reason I ask is that it seems to run fine on Live, but I get no latency results in either log file.
Cheers
