Wow, I'm sure that took you no time at all~!! B)

I did look up the Qcad website, and I guess I can download it and give it a try. If it is the commonplace tool, thenafter I go through the documentation and tutorials, I have somewhere to search for answers. ;)

Thanx again!

Actually you can install Qcad from the Ubuntu Menu
Applications > Ubuntu Software Center
in the search box type qcad
look for professional CAD system and install qcad, qcad-data, and qcad-doc
then right click on Applications and select Edit Menus
pick a spot and add a new item with the command qcad

I'm not sure at this point how to get the docs to show up.

This local link should show the docs in a browser if you installed them

file:///usr/share/doc/qcad/html/appendix.html

Groovy, thanx~!!!

I've already downloaded it to my Windows 7 notebook, and I'll try to play with it some while I'm away.

Thanx again!

Once you learn the method to drawing lines exactly where you want your GTG.

Snaps:
Snap to grid to start a line at 0,0 (look at the status bar to see where your cross hairs are)
Snap to end point to start a line from the end point of an entity
You toggle back and forth on the snaps as you need them.

Parallel lines is great way to make rectangles, start with two lines perpendicular to each other then parallel off of them then trim the corners with trim one line.

To draw the triangle I made one line horizontal then snapped to the end with a line with angle to get the angle I wanted. Then I just trimmed the ends (didn't need to really but a habit) then used round to put a radius on the corner.
