Has this problem always existed or has it just started recently?

Does it also happen if you run an Axis config that is not PlasmaC?
Does it happen if you run a Gmoccapy config?
What flavour of Linux are you using?

Use a file browser with hidden files enabled and check if you have a .axisrc file in your home directory. If you do, rename it and then try your machine config and an Axis sim.
