I also just found this on
en.industryarena.com/forum/breakout-boar...-wiring--373194.html

It looks like I may have mine wired as an NPN
and might try this to see if I get a result!

I just tried the circuit but all it does is limit the voltage change to something tiny.
with the existing setup I get a voltage drop from around 9 volts to close to 0.
I have tried inverting the pin but still no response from the GUI.

I tried your suggestion with the EStop line of code but then I cannot toggle the GUI power switch rendering everything inactive!

With the spindle Hal meter, the pwmgen.0.value changes as expected from 0 upwards/downwards as the +/- button is pressed in the GUI
I have inverted/uninverted the spindle signal using the Stepconfig Wizard several times but I always get +10volts form the BOB pin

Diode is reversed.

Swopped the Diode round and got a 0 to 1 volt rise when the switch is activated.
I'm assuming the previous wiring is correct without the resistor & diode as this gives near to 9 volts.

What is the voltage on the other inputs that are not connected to anything?

Simply buy NPN sensors and don't waste your time.

Also I didn't anderstand about

Now your E-stop switch is working fine?

If you always get 10V nevertheless, your variable "value" changes, it seems, that analog output is defective.

Then if you want to controll speed from LCNC, try to use discreate PWM signal to your freaquency drive.
Freaquency drive also could be operated by PWM signal (not analog output)

A resistor of 2.2 to 4.7K should do just fine.

Hi tommylight,

I get 9 volts

I added a 3.3K resistor but still no signal.
I checked the hal meter signal and no change.
(The voltage between gnd and pin 10 with the resistor reads 6.7 volts)

I am beginning to wonder if the Parallel Port is the suspect.
It is a dual parallel port of which I am just using the first one.
It is a StarTech PEX2PECP2 which uses the MCS9865 chipset which in my research has been cited as good for LinuxCNC

The Estop is still ineffective.

The way my drive works is that it accepts an analogue signal.
I can control this with a potentiometer so this problem can be overcome 'manually' - not relying on LCNC.

As I mentioned just now in my reply to tommylight, I may need to investigate the parallel port further.
