How did you connect them?
L1 (Phase) to L1 and L2C ,
N to L3 and L1C,
B2 and B3 bridged ?
Is it getting hot, without motor connected?

I can't find an dedicated Hardware Enable pin, maybe the drive is directly enabled after appliyng Main Power. This could be an reason for warming up. how fast it is getting hot?

L2 ( my 2nd Phase on the first phase are already the Computer and 5 and 24V power supply the second drive is on L3 ) to L1
L2 empty
N to L3
L2 to L2C (I use two breakers one for the control loop and one for the main loop)
N to L1C
B2 and B3 are Bridged.
Motor is not connected.
DI0 (Servo enable) is low
DI1(Alarm release) is low
And within 30 sec its getting hot.
With all the VFD‘s I used fo far they never went warm so quick and never without motor load.

You are in Europe and have 380V or 400V 3 phase aren't you? 220V three phase is a US thing.
I can't follow what you wrote. When you talk about connecting a single phase and it getting hot, are you connecting between phase and neutral (= 230V) or are you connecting between two phase wires (= 400V).
Mark

I am connecting between a single phase an neutral (230V)
But since this is making troubles I was thinking about using a 3x400 V to 3x220V Transformer. And was wondering if one of my old ones might fit, but it turned out they don‘t.
But as it seems I am doing everything right I will give the 2nd drive a chance. Maybe there is simply something wrong with the first.
Many thanks fo all the support here!

Did you determine L and N based on color? Have you measured the voltage? Some electricians are either color blind, or consider color coding as more of an optional recommendation than a standard.

Since I did all the wiring the colors / Numbers should be correct.
But I will rewire to make before starting the 2n one

Wiring is correct, that should not get hot.
Are you shure you have an proper "N".?

Many thanks, That at leat means my thinking was right, wich is a relief for me. I will check neutral if there is something funky. If not I‘ll try the second drive and there is simply something wrong with the first one. But I usually assume an error on my side first.

Sorry to read of the problems ----
I have used light bulbs for series resistance in the power feed ( bulbs in series for increased voltage rating and / or parallel for increased current ) when trying to energize problem electronic stuff. Works great for charging up capacitors , tracking down shorted components .and can save fuses or breakers tripping .
Hope it is a easy fix
