I tried your string, it works just as well for me in 2.7.12 and latest Master.
So I don't know where to go from here. I can't really fix a problem that I can't test.

Also, I am away from home again for the next two weeks starting tomorrow morning (Work, this probably annoys me even more than you)

Thx a lot
One question? I use 7i76e and i have impression you ,use 5i25. True?

Wish you all the best on your working job. Know the time constraints quite good myself. Original plan was finishing my new verdin Christmas 17.... Hope now to have something in a few month. The lcd is an addon for gmoccapy, want to show dynamic fluteload cuttingspeed etc.

I will try to ask Norbert if his display still has the same behavior like mine.

@pcw
Do you think i should try to reflash the 7i76e?
And is there a way to do that for the 7i73 too and would you try that?
Thx Mike

Hallo Andy,

I just tested with your script (modified for 7i76e) on recent master and the display does not stay synchronized, meaning the letters are jumping around.
Then I switched over to 2.7 and the display shows all correct.

Unfortunately I have no other card to check, if this is related to 7i76e connection.

Norbert

OK, next test:

reseted master hard to be 6f0f2cafb89a914ea392c65d2e3dcbe754b1638d
(control.c: honor fractional accels for wheel jogging)
working correct!

reseted hard to d92f69438023d62a66171a785a50d33f8cea32c6
(Smart Serial: Start to enable parameter setting via HAL)
broken!

So IMHO that merge causes the problem.

Andy if you want me to make more checks, I will do that.
If you need a 7i76e for testing, I am able to borrow you one.

Norbert

Note: If I stop the script, the display is holded and I can see, that all letters have moved 1 by right place, So you do not read LinuxCNC but LinuxCNCC, so that might be just a wrong counting in some place.

OK. That sounds pretty definitive.
I have an Ethernet Mesa card. I will try with that when I get home (2 weeks)
