I can't seem to find the J1 on this board anywhere, and I'm using a magnifying glass, or is it on the underside of the board?

Yes, the one in the box. It's a 0 ohm resistor loaded there. You simply need to remove it. You don't have to pull the board, but you need to make sure it's powered off first.
I would also make sure to watch out for ESD. One side of this resistor is most likely a direct connection to a processor input pin. I wouldn't run out and buy esd wrist straps and such, but I wouldn't pull it off while sitting on a wool chair, in a carpeted room, in Arizona, during an August dry spell either.
