Lord have mercy on me......

Nice Biesse CNC Router

18 drill vertical and horizontal, one spindle.

The guy is asking 4000, I went and saw it, he will take 2500.

Oh my, what to do........ Great little machine, Could have this retrofitted in three weeks if not less I am sure.
Very clean and I saw it running......

Bro, where is the clinic for machine addicts???
We need about 6 months of therapy, but i doubt it would work. :) :) :)
Where are you? ( might have asked that before but forgoten ).
The minimum i can find this type and size biese here is 7500 in a pityfull state. For 2500 i would not let it go, but that's me !
Then again i do not have a wife and kids, otherwise i would be living under a bridge with a lot of machines and no power socket. :)

I am in Montreal. I am really considering this purchase. It is like a baby next to the 346...lol

I have to think about this..... Head office Biesse is here in Mirabel, 30- minutes from me. These machines are all over here.

Hi, my name is Bob I am a linuxcnc-machine-aholic.

This machine has big DC servos. Probably driven with PWM, dont know. But I am sure it would be easy.

What about seling them retrofited? I am thinking about doing exactly that for biese and some other types found here ( in Kosovo ), the only problem is, here nobody wants to pay for training, they absolutely think that they payed for the machine and i HAVE to train them for use. It is hard for normal people to understand that, as it is not normal by any standard, but it is caled Balkan Mentality.
Nevermind, i wont be stoped by that for sure.

I thought about it. They are kinda complicated but kinda easy. The drives and inverters are a no brainer.

I would put the cost of training in the quote. Hide it or spell it out.

Oh, i did and still do, forgot to mention it, sorry.

Moving on to new projects.
Have to travel to install a THC on a plasma cutter and most probably change from mach3 to Linuxcnc. Half a days job. Need more chalenges to keep my brain occupied.
End of my ranting.
Regards,
Tom

Hi,

In 2 weeks I will pick up my Biesse Rover 18.
I bought the machine because it was very cheap.

I'm thinking of replacing the old NC481 controller.
But the challenge is to get the servo's running I guess.
Is replacing the servo's/controllers not an easier solution?

Regards,
Peter

I just found out what servo drivers are used :

X-axis: Driver: Soprel PWME 200x25/50 - Servo: Magnetic BR60L 30/13
Y-axis: Driver: Soprel PWME 200x14/28 - Servo: Magnetic BR60S 30/12
Z-axis: Driver: Soprel PWME 200x14/28 - Servo: Magnetic BR60S 30/12

Is there an easy way to keep the drivers/servo's in combination of a new CNC controller?

Regards
Peter

I did a quick search and could not find much info on the drives, but if they are -+10V analogue ones, it can be done as many of us here did many times on many different machines. See if you can find any manuals and schematics, that would help a lot.

Same here, difficult to find information about the drives .
But I read somewhere that the drives are -+10 analog.
The same person mentions that the drives are only responsible for the speed, not the position?

What hardware/software is used to let them do the job?
