Will try it with Mach again in the morning just to make sure there are no hardware problems

I have tried inverting the step pins with no luck.
Will try it with Mach again in the morning just to make sure there are no hardware problems
I can convert a mach xml file to a stepconf file if you like just attach it to a message.

The voltage at the pins looks good, My meter will not read them properly and my scope is very old and impossible to calibrate for exact voltage levels but the wave form looks good and probably over 4 volts.
John, I have attached the Mach XML file, If you could convert it that would be great.
This is the 3rd time I have tried LinuxCNC over the years on 3 different computers and 2 different mills.
The first 2 times I gave up quickly after getting no movement and not understanding Linux, this time I will get it going even if I have to buy another computer and new hardware. But it would be very encouraging if
this present set up will run it.

Here is the stepconf file. The README contains the instructions.
Weird pin out for sure...

It would be interesting to see if the same is true with LinuxCNC.This morning I tried it on Mach again and it ran fine.
The voltage at the pins looks good, My meter will not read them properly and my scope is very old and impossible to calibrate for exact voltage levels but the wave form looks good and probably over 4 volts.
One obscure possibility is that Mach is forcing EPP mode on the parport, and some PCs supply more current that way.
If you see a lower voltage with LinuxCNC then that could be it.
