7i92 was created by Diederik
Hi ,

Does anyone perhaps have Sample configuration files for the 7i92, with 7i77x2?
First time for me to play with this, but I have built alot of 6i25-7i77's, so I'm sure a sample .hal, & .ini file will set me off to success.
(Or even the lines that I need to add to my files, or Documentation where I can find these secrets ;) )

Thanks for the help in advance. :) :) :)

a 7i92 with 7i77 configuration will be almost identical to a configuration with a 5I25 except
for the following:

Card name is changed (so pin/parameter names change)
Driver is different (hm2_eth instead of hm2_pci)
The driver needs the card IP address in the config line

The driver manual page (man hm2_eth) has the setup information

freeby.mesanet.com/7i92step.zip

Is an example step/dir config file set for the 7I92

Note that a big unmentioned elephant in the room is that you need to run
hm2_eth with the uspace version of linuxcnc under Preempt-RT
not RTAI

Hi Peter,

I have tried your instructions, but no success. Please forgive me, but my knowledge of computers in general is very limited.

Could you please instruct me line by line for the 7i92. Eg. (my lines=)
loadrt hm2_eth config=" num_encoders=6 num_pwmgens=0 num_stepgens=0 sserial_port_0=000xxx"

Etc. What other lines do I require Making it different from 6i25? I changed all 5i25 in Hal file to 7i92, etc.

Please provide me with a sample configuration.

Hi Peter,

Thank you,
This seems like the .hal file. What should the .ini commands look like?

I have the following in my .ini file:
[HOSTMOT2]
# **** This is for info only ****
# DRIVER0=hm2_eth
# BOARD0=5i25

I have now also tried this in my ini file:

[HOSTMOT2]
DRIVER=hm2_7i92
BOARD=7i92
CONFIG=""

But I don't have a clue. I'm hitting in the air, not having proper documentation/reference to work from, I don't know what I'm doing here.
