That basically showsthe same error as shown in the dmesg list
(PPMC card not found so likely parallel port/EPP/PPMC issue)

Very likely not related to your previous latency issue and possibly something wrong with
your new PC setup

Also you may have disturbed something with the PPMC when changing PCs

Starting LinuxCNC...
enshu.hal:868: Pin 'ppmc.0.encoder.04.position' does not exist
Shutting down and cleaning up LinuxCNC...

Doesn't this mean there is a card problem? The HAL file has this under spindle.
# spindle feedback
net SpindleRevs motion.spindle-revs ppmc.0.encoder.04.position

It means the PPMC card(s) are not found (as the dmesg says)

The pin is not found because the PPMC driver failed to load because it found no PPMC hardware

This suggests something wrong with the new PCs LPT interface since it was working before

As previously stated the new pc was replaced with the old pc. Only the backup hard drive is in it. The orginal hard drive was to hot to hold.

PPMC is not a parallel port card, as it is described as a digital to analog device.
If using paraport, change everything relating to ppmc to paraport.0.
That shout do it.

PPMC is a pico motion controller and and there are only 16 pins listed in the post above. Pin 0 is DAC.
Paraport has 17 pins and no DAC.
Are you actualy using a PPMC from pico systems?

Just read the complete thread, and one of the errors mentions that existing parallel port does not support mode 4, so that just proves that you do not have a PPMC and the parallel port will not work as one. Do you have a PCI card on the old computer? If so, you will have to use that card and change the I/O address.
Ok just saw your post. So you do have one.
Now that is the external card. Is there a internal card on the old computer?
