Hi
since my last post i manage to do some progress with my gantry machine.
First of all i manage threw serial communication to be able to tune my servo motor.
The result are looking encouraging but there are some other thinks to be solved
My machine is X Y Y Z C router
Here is the issues to deal with
x axis servo run smooth in the negative direction but when i try to jog it in positive direction it fault
I try to manually edit the INI file and the HAL file
it is the first time that the LINUXCNC opening and running with no error:woohoo:
the problem is that the motor i Y is jogging but the DRO of Y is zero
I now that i have way to go but i think that i can make it work
an y suggestion will be appreciated

Your INI file seems to lack the [AXIS_X] / Y / Z sections?

No, they are there tucked away in there.
What version of LinuxCNC are you using? Master branch (v 2.8) has enhancements that makes gantries much easier to configure.
What I am seeing is that you are missing HOME_SEQUENCE in your ini file for each joint
If you are using V 2.8, the joints for the 2 Y joints need to be the same negative number (eg -1) and the others a positive number (can be the same number and they will home at the same time. Make sure your gantry joints have the identical homing sequence so they move together.
I've only used V 2.8 but if you are using V2.7 I think it might get confused by the XYYZ sequence as it will be expecting Joint 2 to be tied to Z
Life will be easier if you upgrade to master v2.8 if you are not running it already......

Hi
i use the Master branch (v 2.8) updated about 1 week ago
i m not working in the homing sequence yet
my main problem right now is that i jog the one motor of Y(the second is disconected) and i dont have any reading in the DRO

The other thing I see and this relates directly to the DRO's is that you have a XYZA machine but your DRO's are XYZ set byin your .ini display section
Try adding an A to that and then humor me and add home sequence of -1 to your joints 1 & 2 and set the others to some positive value if you still have dramas.

the A display issue solved
the problem now is to connect the y1 motor to the mesa board i try to copy the y (joint1) and edit the values
with no success
what i missing here?

This appears identical to joint 1
I don't know your hardware but maybe it is
