Well it is using the modified file:

have you modified the GLADE file?
Could you post your whole config here and I'll look at it?
If not I'll get you to add some debugging print statements.

Hi Chris,
Some result, at leased when toggle the keyboard button it generates some figures, attached the config, and screen print
(have temp. renamed industrial_handler.pyc to add it to this post)

matchbox-keyboard
Does it display?

Yes when I open terminal and type: matchbox-keyboard, it display the keyboard, only on my linux g-screen it would not appear

I don't know if its relevant but I could never get matchbox to work with gmoccappy so I used onboard instead. It has had a bit of a checkered history with Linux Mint and it disappeared from my config but now its back in the repositories. I found I had to add a startup command to start it otherwise it did not display.

As far as i could find, "onboard"is not supported by Debian strech
