This?

linuxcnc.org/docs/2.7/html/config/python...sitionlogger_tt_type

I think that is all there is.

If you find out more, please tell us and it can be added to the documentation.

Hi,

I just discovered motion-logger and tried to use it - but as soon as I start it, axis does not work any more.
So what is the intended use-case?

it's used in AXIS , gladevcp, Qt and Gremlin for display of the gcode.

you can run Gremlin independently beside AXIS, so they might be the best to play with.

Hi Chris,

thank you for your attention!

I don't refer to the python-code, but the standalone executable from LC.
I start axis and then I start motion-logger with a logfile argument (both from 2.9 rip environment). When motion-logger is started, axis becomes unusable (may be feedback-channel is globbered?).

i.e.: I enable axis after start and issue a home all axis, to be ready to run the interpreter. Then I start motion-logger. When I then press run in axis, I get the error-message, that the axis need to be homed. But I can't do that from axis any more.

I even tried to start motion-logger before starting axis, but that does not work either.

So - what's my error/misunderstanding?

linuxcnc-dev/src/emc/motion-logger/motion-logger.c

which results in executable:

linuxcnc-dev/bin/motion-logger

Have you looked in tests/motion logger?
I'm sue it's mostly used with linuxcnc's run test.
Which I unfortunately know little about.

Have you looked in tests/motion logger?

Thanks for the hint.
Did not know that.

Kwick search showed success in tests, so I started a complete rebuild.
Don't know, why I run into trouble.

Thank you for your support!
