Try inverting the enable pin in hal or in stepconf, usually named amplifier enable in stepconf, machine-is-on or xenable in the hal file.

No joy. I also tried inverting one of the axis pins.

I also noticed that inverting parport does not invert the net xenable.

Can you upload the hal and ini files as they are now.
I can not recall anything else that would cause such behaviour.

Check if you can move the motor by hand before enabling LinuxCNC and after enabling it.

Yes, I can move the motors with the power off but when the controller is on the are locked from the controller being powered. The stepconf axis test increments the motors so I know they are good.

I can upload anything you would like, just tell me where.

You can upload hal and ini and zip files here on the forum, under the editor, attachments button.

The files are OK for the most part, so they should work. So:
setp stepgen.0.steplen 1
setp stepgen.0.stepspace 0
setp stepgen.0.dirhold 35000
setp stepgen.0.dirsetup 35000
Now, can you test moving the motors when they are powered, start LinuxCNC and check if they can be turned, then press F1 and F2 and check again if they can be moved.

I reset the inverted pin. Looking at, and playing with controls I did get an axis to increment one time, same as it did with stepconf even though I have it set to continuous feed. It seems that it is accessing the motors, just with not the correct control. It does show "no tool" but that should not matter. Other than that I cannot get it to feed continuously.

Tomorrow I will play with setting up a gcode file to see if it can run it. I cannot help thinking that there is something I'm missing in the set up.

Hi
1. Have you changed as tommy proposed
setp stepgen.0.steplen 1 i'm unsure but would try 5000 or 10000
setp stepgen.0.stepspace 1 i'm unsure but would try 5000 or 10000
setp stepgen.0.dirhold 148500 here would use 20000
setp stepgen.0.dirsetup 148500 here would use 20000

I'm unsure if in parport 1 is ok. In other an impuls of 1 microsecond will never pas a bob. The last two times are for direction time and 0.145 seonds is realy slow.

2.
To make it easy strip of the enable cable. With a cable connectd to gnd or logic-supply voltage you should be able to switch the motors from movable to blocked by current.
If you are not able to do this, you probably need some watchdog cycling. If so come back to us.

3.
If you know your motors are enabled, there could be that you have crossed direction and puls.
Good luck
Mike
