What are some designing programs that work well in accordance with linuxcnc? I’m building a plasma cnc so all I need is 2d and I don’t need it to be super advanced. I’d prefer for it to easy to understand though I’m not against learning. And I would like it to be free. Could

Forgot to mention, Inkscape will export gcode ready for use in LinuxCNC.
With FreeCAD and QCAD you will need to use dxf2gcode that is also very easy to use.

Quad should have a gco generator but I don’t know if they have it in the community version.
I rarely use it anymore since I have fusion.

With FreeCAD and QCAD you will need to use dxf2gcode that is also very easy to use.


FreeCAD is capable of generating quite nice G-code on it's own, including reasonably good HSM tool paths.
