Homing will get your machine in a predefined position so that LinuxCNC is able to check the Gcode for limit violations.
Do you have home switches on your machine at all?

Does your machine have home or limit switches? (Limit switches can be uses as home switches.)

Which user interface are you using? Different gui have sightly different homing procedures. (Especially on a machine without home switches configured.)

Have you read the parts of the manual pertaining to configuring homing? There are some different settings that must be made for setting up a machine without home switches, and setting up one with them.

Thank you both. yes i am aware what the homme position means. I have tried to change in thet setup menu but i still get the message
that i am violating the limits when i am trying to start anything.

I have read the 900 pages manuel both some of it not understandable for me.

I am going to day and bying some switches and mount i hope that as you point out will be a part of the solution.

I will return =thanks

What you describe sounds like you either have a problem with how your soft limits are configured or with the basic direction of movement (+ and - directions are confused).

The settings for the soft limits are in your ini configuration file. Posting a copy of that would be helpful, As well as a description of the mechanics of your machine. (Is it a moving table, or gantry?) What parts of your machine move in which direction when you jog + or -? What are the travel limits of your machine? What value have you assigned to the home position, and where is that relative to the switch you are using for your home switch?

To day the machine is back and working in a way.

No movement of its owen.

The machine is a 6040cncest. I have Y axis moving forward and backwards. fixed plate . A X axis moving left and right. And the Z axis op and down on a gantry.
The Mach3 CD ( yes cd ) was corrupted efter 4 diffrent cpu with 4 diffrent OS.
So we have got a new parralel port frem china ( kontrolbox ) and the same with the cpu.
So there is some kind of connection manuelly
. I am at the moment installing micriswitches 6 diff places.
Wi have given it a secure ground for electrical grounding.
+ there were missing 5 v powersupply to raise a relay
