Hi
Don't know how to search
I am using linuxCnC to make PCB.
I need to had the auto leveling function to probe the "height" of many point of the copper pcb befor engraving.
Is it possible with linuxcnc ?
Thanks

It is possible, but I don't know of any turnkey implementations.
The way to do it now would be using "External Offsets" but I am not sure what one would use to generate the offsets.
How many points are you probing?
I think that this idea had merit, and parts of it might be re-usable:
wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?ProbeKins
The problem with that implementation was discontinuities in the kinematics. This would not be a problem if the offset was applied as an "external offset" separately from kinematics.

NOTE: I haven't been able to find the stlcorr.py or any of the other files mentioned.

autoleveler (not used, but apparently compatible with LCNC)
tell us how you get on

Hi there,
I looked into this many moons ago when I built my machine and am currently not near my computers due to being at work.
I did a quick search and found this link, kingofprotons.blogspot.com/p/pcb-autolevelling.html?m=1
I think from memory this is what I was looking at using but never got round to trying it as of yet, but it has a ok write up to follow and links so software to probe the board first, then adjust your selected file with the data, then cut your board.
I hope this is something on the path of what you where after.
I thought I had another way but dont seem to be able to find it at the moment.

It is available here too www.autoleveller.co.uk/
I used it some years ago. There were some things around the java version to use.
And to use a locale that uses . as decimal separator and not ,
Other than that it worked just fine.

Will this work for 3d compensation to offset pitch and roll in X, Y and Z axis movement?

Hello
Thanks for all the reply. I have to look all the proposal
I had already seen Autoleveller but it seem's old. compatible with Java8 and we are 11...
I try to run but had error message.
I don't know how many test point I need... my PCB is 10cm x 16cm. So I think between 1 for 1 square cm would be the maximum...
I will try and let you know the result!
