Have a look at this thread, forum.linuxcnc.org/27-driver-boards/4254...ter-what-i-try-to-do there is some info about testing the parallel port, run that and see how you go.

Should I be looking at the PCI bus? My parallel port is pluged into PCIe slot

setp parport.0.reset-time 1000


This seems _way_ too short a step time for most step/dir drivers
try setting this to 5000 and see what happens

are drivers fir parallel port needed?


No linux drivers are needed (though the linux driver found your card)

LinuxCNC uses hal_parport to access the parallel port
