I installed Debian Buster. When I try to open the cnc software configured with the cnc wizard I get the attached error.
I had the parallel port hooked up to the breakout board when I installed Linuxcnc.

Check this out. Find adress of your parport card and put your findings in your *.hal file.

In this example is 0x378 adress of parport.

In a terminal:
cat /proc/ioports | grep parport
What does it return?
