isolcpus=7

Note that if you have ~10 ms latency this is not likely to be fixed by isolcpus

Did you install the Realtek DKMS driver?

If you did, what are the current results of the ping test?

Absolutely brilliant. thats the ticket right there. even without isolcups. its been running for several hours now and i haven't gotten the dreaded error finishing read error.

I use Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, never had to do isolcpu, it just works. Same on Ryzen 5 3600.

Not that i know of from reading here, but i have never used isolation, ever, i have access to plenty of PC's and laptops so if any show bad latency i run 3D printers from it! :)

I'm getting this error now when i update.
W: Skipping acquire of configured file '2.9-rt/source/Sources' as repository 'www.linuxcnc.org bookworm InRelease' does not seem to provide it (sources.list entry misspelt?)

also, in step 32 there is an extra : that gets an error if you are cut/pasting the commands.
