@roya
I gave that same 6.12-rc7 image some more test , trying to pinpoint where the glitches come from , for the sake of learning , an i do got this dust collector opi4 ...
Stumble upon the linuxcnc-rio guy , wow , still got 80 pages of post to read + his git .
Back to your 6.12rc7 , tried the 3 deb packages you've post on another image , the headers deb is corrupted by te way .
With same -1Gb img , stopping some unused .services , I do get ''stable'' shutdown now , isolating 3 last cores ,
no impressive latency results of course , but a usable fast enough(no lag) jwm desktop ,no hang ,no oo's , i'll hook up the 7i92 to the bob with it , the opi4/your 6.12rt as a ''one at the time'' purpose job and come back , after reading more about the rio .
Kernel 6.12 is young , worth testing it , opi4 may not be the best sbc candidate , not to mention xulong support , or worse their forum !!!
Thanks again , no rush ,i'll be back .
PJ
edit ; still some random kernel panic on shutdown ,i will try recompiling the dts for opi4 to see if it goes somewhere..

Since I need a lightweight operating system, my review of the available Armbian versions showed that most of them have high latency and noticeable lag.
I am looking for a build of Armbian similar to the version provided for Raspberry Pi, which is both lightweight and optimized, with excellent latency performance.
Please help me to get through this.

Despite all my efforts, I was unable to successfully build a real-time version of Armbian.Perhaps something wrong with the kernel config? You could try to install the kernel deb that I uploaded to see if that helps. Otherwise you might need to install more software, just install a complete desktop will be the fastest route to find out.
from then I tried so much and still couldn't compiled a real-time image which linuxcnc be installed and its latency shows up.
Could you please guide me after placing patch (patch-6.6.63-rt43) in the /patch/kernel/archive/rockchip64-6.6 and configuring fully preemption option, what changes do I need to do?

Armbian forum could be a better choice as where to ask for compiling help .
opi4's should be some ok sbc to get decent latency , as some geeks & nerds do it
on less powerful sbc !!
Compiling , for me , often been a kind of hit-and-miss intimidating affair , despite it seems so obvious to some .

Same here , mainly focusing on kernel 6.12 .

Did succeed compiling armbian minimal img with a patch 6.12.5 rt preempt , installed cinnamon and linuxcnc .. oh , sh!t ,forgot to patch it rt-preempt_FULL.. my opinion on compiling did not change , it just add more my already bowing respects for developpers .
