Would the original stepgen files help? They worked before the parallel port died and I added the 7i92.

A stab in the dark, but you have no PWM in that config for spindle speed, if i am not mistaken you mentioned that, so you do need spindle control, right? Do you have a VFD?

I have a VFD but it is not connected to the G540. Never could get it work. Is there a way to do that with the 7i92?

Here you go, all set, even the ini file should be as you need it ( why was your max velocity 2 inch per minute and your x axis travel over 1200 inches??? That would make for a loooong wait ! )
Make sure you have the 7i92_g540something.bit flashed on the board, right click on the ini file and choose open with >linuxcnc.

Oh well, you are using 2.7 version and i am using 2.8pre, so that will not work, it will need a bit of editing the ini file to make it work.

Nope, it is fully functional, i have it on several machines working all day every day.
