I did test it, it works instantly.

My apologies Peter, that one should have been obvious. The G540 charge pump came on instantly. Your patience and assistance is greatly appreciated. I will run physical tests next to see if I have those settings correct.

I have made some simple tests. I have a strange result when making multiple passes; the next pass will inset itself about 1/8", forming small stairs instead of a clean, straight profile. Ideas?

Typically staircaseing is because of lost steps.
Lost steps can come from mechanical, electrical or timing issues
Possible mechanical causes: loose couplings, binding
Possible electrical issues: noise, wrong step polarities, marginal levels somewhere
Possible timing issues: too short step pulses (use 5000 to start) , too short direction setup or hold times
(use 20000 to start), too high acceleration rate (use 2x max velocity to start)

Can you give a more complete description of the current problem? Are the multiple passes at the same depth? Is the 1/8" step in X or in Z? In fact, given that is page 9, we could probably use a reminder of whether this is lathe or mill, servo or stepper.

A recap. I am working on a cnc mill (router) stepper motors controlled a Gecko G540 and have replaced the paraport with the Mesa 7i92M. During the testing process the power supply died and I have replaced it. The VFD is contained alone in a separate metal enclosure apart from the power supply, G540 and the 7i92. The programs are being generated using Vectric Aspire with the Linuxcnc Arcs post processor.
The multiple passes are all same depth and appear to be correct. The stair-casing is affecting both the x and y axis.
