# these are in nanoseconds
DIRSETUP = 1000
DIRHOLD = 1000
STEPLEN = 1000
STEPSPACE = 1000

If I change to 500 the error message disappears but then I get no movement..

Try increasing these in your ini file.
# The values below should be 25% larger than MAX_VELOCITY and MAX_ACCELERATION
# If using BACKLASH compensation STEPGEN_MAXACCEL should be 100% larger.
STEPGEN_MAXVEL = XXX
STEPGEN_MAXACCEL = XXX

You could also reduce microstepping but you'll need to change the scale.

These are the settings I'm using on my 7i76e. Some people were horrified I had some so short, but hey its working up to about 90 kHz. This will be hardware dependent (eg your stepper controller)
# these are in nanoseconds
DIRSETUP   = 500
DIRHOLD    = 500
STEPLEN    = 2500
STEPSPACE  = 2500

G'day Rod,

I have no microstepping settings on these AC servodrives not that I can find anyways. Chinese Lichuan B2.
www.europages.se/SHENZHEN-XINLICHUAN-ELE...uction%20Book~2.html

The documentation is very hard to read as it is probably google translated.

Will try to do some more testing to get rid of error message and reach acceptable speed.
These motors/drivers was working OK with Mach3/Kflop where I got very high speeds = just too much ;)
Only difference what I can see is that now I use as in picture instead of only step/dir for input signals to driver.

Sorry but I can not figure out what is wrong in INI or HAL as I get the above error message.

It is possible that some values have been over written by pncconf.

As icing on the cake I get occasional joint 0 or joint 1 limit switch error. Just standing still no movement and axis far away from switches.

This sound like electrical noise. Are you using the 7i76e inputs and 24V for limits? I know you were using the daughter cards for inputs at some stage.

I know you know electronics but on all of my inputs and steppers, the cable shield is left floating at the machine end and I ground it to the cabinet at the controller end using the provided copper studs In most cases. Where possible I use s separate pin for the ground rather than relying on the external connector ground. eg. For 4 wire steppers, I use 5 pin connectors. I've had no noise issues.

What I was taught is that using 24 volt would virtually eliminate noise. I'd rethink your use of 7i73 inputs. I don't think they were intended for what you are doing.. Consider utilising the 7i76e inputs at 24 volts.

According to Peter the 5V should work OK, These are old switches and have a bit high resistance compared to new ones.

Problem is to get to these mechanically as they where built in place before the big and heavy X table.
Z and Y are a bit easier to dig out but to find new with 3-in-1 switches is not easy.

Maybe I just go for 24VDC proximity sensor on each axis for home and use softlimits.
This joint error resets everything so it is not acceptable.
