You don't need those any more, I hard-coded the numbers

OK

Still I can not wrap my head around this as I am not a programmer.

So what needs to be done in hal?

Don't really want to interfere when Andy has got you on a good track.

But look in the "comp". There are several "pin in" at the top 15 lines. Connect them.
Make sure the comp is loadrt'd and addf'd in the hal file.
Then, being a bit defensive, start linuxcnc. Open halshow and watch the "pin out" signals
from the comp. Change gears and such things, and see if the output pins behave as you want.

Hi HÃ¥kan,

forum.linuxcnc.org/39-pncconf/33069-help...ing?start=590#116883

Already done, just need to go down and start LCNC and try ;)
I was convinced that SETP was needed but obviously not.
Maybe I get a timeslice after dinner today to do a test you suggest.

Naah, if you have the version from this post forum.linuxcnc.org/39-pncconf/33069-help...ing?start=590#116868, the setp's aren't needed, as Andy says the speeds are hard coded..

Hi Andy,

Still in same spot have not tried anything, been a bit offline due to joint pains again and then I tend to go off-line so to speak.

Cheers

It looks like you have not set the message comp up right. You need a message for each gear, telling the user how to set the controls.

OK

Give me a hint on how and where to do this and I will try to scribble something up.
