You would have to reflash the 7I76E with firmware that supports a 7I77

Sorry, I forgot t include the card name in the path.
If you unzipped the 7i76e.zip file in your home directory it would be:
cd ~/7i76e/configs/hostmot2

cd ~/7i76e/configs/hostmot2

If you can ping 10.10.10.10 but you get a "board not found" error
it usually means you have set the PC's IP address to 10.10.10.10
(instead of say 10.10.10.100)
( so you are pinging the PC )

i rebooted the computer, now connection 1 works and connection 2 although says not connected, i can ping the 7i76e and the mesaflash readhmid comand spits info out, now i should be able to reflash it. one question, the 7i77 should i connect that to the 7i76e through the expansion port1 through the db25 on the 7i77

i still am unable to get a 7i76e in the pnccongif, nor can i get a 7i76_7i77 option i reflashed the 6i25 to 5i25_7i76_7i77.bit .. if i use the 7i76e with eithernet hook up then i shouldn't even need the 6i25, but i would have to be able to get the pnc.config wizard to give me that option. other wise i would have to figure out how to get pnc.config to offer the 7i76_7i77 option, set that up then edit everything in hal. if i understood the code strings better i could just make the hole thing myself, but far to new to this for that.

1. pncconf supports the 7I76E, at least the current version does (in 2.8.2)
2. The 7I76E option in pncconf does not support an added 7I77 so
it probably easiest to create a 7I76/7I77 config for a 5I25 and do the minor
edits in the hal/ini files to change the base FPGA card to a 7I76E
