It is a hidden file, in your home directory.
Go to "Places" and click "Home Folder", then click "View" and select "Show Hidden Files".
You should find a file named ".gscreen_preferences", open that up and near the bottom you will see "embedded_keyboard=True", set that to false.

Does this hide the button for keyboard toggle as well?

No, it will not hide the button. If you wish to hide also the button, you will have to edit the glade file and set the visible property of the corresponding button too false.

Rick,
Are you running gscreen on a mill or lathe?

Chris,
I have been toying with the idea for porttrait mode. I want to use a 19" or larger touch screen that would allow the bottom section to be the keyboard. Is this even possible?

try this (works on my laptop)
go to System / preferences / monitors
on the monitor screen there should be a checkbox for show monitors in panel - check it.
you should see a monitor appear in the panel. click it.
If you graphics card supports it you should see options to rotate the screen.
If that doesn't work then there are probably other ways - that you would need to research on the web.

When you first start Gscreen, on the debug page, in the terminal are the current Gscreen pins.
Whether they do what you want .....
Chris M
PS yes the separate panel for controls would be just for testing .
