Hey,

I uploaded my most recent ini/hal files here the other day.
forum.linuxcnc.org/show-your-stuff/42411...cnc?start=170#230517

I used the config when I set mine up. x, y, tandem y, z.

I'm running a MESA 7i96. and using a THCAD10 for the THC with a Unimig Razor Cut45 Plasma.

Cool, I'll be back down in the shed soon, so I'll keep an eye on this while I'm working.

Take some screen shots while you do the config as this may help out if there is something a miss.

Cheers

Just to be clear you have a gantry machine with dual X motors and a U axis?

I can look into it in the morning but can not test as I'm out of 7i96 cards.

I have dual Motors on the x which is a gantry.  i thought the 2nd x was to be done with the u or a axis but i am understanding now that i can have a second x axis.  So it is a xxyz machine.  I may add a rotary axis down the road but that is later.   I am going to try some more  today.  However i may get shut down as we had a major snow fall and powder maybe a little flaky today.

Gantry machines can not use UVW axis as a tandem axis (well they and it can, but not preferred).
Why am i getting a "deja vue" on this subject? Maybe not enough sleep...
Setting up a tandem machine is easy using the provided wizards, ...
I'll stop here as i am not sure what topic with a similar topic was answered already.

Yes, a gantry uses two joints with the same axis so just define the two joints with x and you should be good to go.

Tommy go take a nap!
