Not a problem, netmask is 24 for the 255.255.255.0 subnet, it is the same thing, just written differently.
8 is 255.0.0.0
16 is 255.255.0.0
24 is 255.255.255.0
Subnets are used to separate internal networks despite being on the same physical network.
