machine parameter conversion from mach3 to emc2 was created by marcopiai
Hi at All,
I'm new in this forum.
I have search for a lot, but I naven't find a really answer at my question.
i have a cnc machine with mach3 software, I would like to try to use it with emc2.
I have the xml file of the machine settings and I'm searching a converter to create an emc configuration file.
in the forum, at topic www.linuxcnc.org/index.php/english/compo...ew&catid=16&id=21534 I have read that: BigJohnT have made the conversion.
Can BigJohnT or anyone help me in the conversion?
Many thanks in advance.

I can convert your xml file if it is a simple machine like a 3 axis mill. The conversion is done from your xml file to a stepconf wizard xml so it has to fit within the limits of the stepconf wizard.
How many axis do you have?
And attach your xml file and I'll convert it.

Here you go, just follow the instructions in the readme file... the conversion seemed to go well.

Could you help me translate this file?
Also, can the translating software be downloaded or is there any documentation about how to translate params.
I am unsure on how to get th times needed for hold, step, etc..
Thanks

How many axes does that have?
The conversion software I wrote is for the Stepconf Wizard which only does up to 4 axis mill configuration.
Edit: I attached the converted file. If your using a non standard parallel port address you might have to tweak that.
It's amazing how much bloat is in the Mach xml file... look at the difference in file size.
