There is a Mint 19.2 ISO with Linuxcnc installed that you can run live.
Generally a loy of people feel more comfortable with the MATE desktop that comes with Mint. Debian doesn't have the "out of box" support for as much hardware as Mint.
Here is the Link to installing Linuxcnc on a Fresh install of Mint if you already have Mint installed without Linuxcnc,

Here is the driect link to the Mint ISO which you can run as a Live session:
cnc.beaglebrainz.net/cdimage/cnc-19.2.0-...ate-uspace-64bit.iso
And the md5 to check the integrity of the image.
cnc.beaglebrainz.net/cdimage/cnc-19.2.0-...ate-uspace-64bit.md5
These are the same links as mentioned in the linked thread, but I know people don't like to read too much
I personally put test & remaster the images from a std Mint install image.
I try to update the packages when git is updated. So far I'm just sticking with 2.8 but if there is any requests for 2.9 and enough of them I will also support 2.9 as packages only.
