Hello Rodw,
I'm super noob in programming but with your guide I installed Ethercat master and connected Panasonic A6B Servo successfully. Everything working well, I have some fundamental Queries
1) I have 5 Servo drives in link. When i power on linuxcnc it power on drives but any random axis is not powering on, i.e. not locking. And still linuxcnc shows axis is ok and ready to home. I'm clueless what I'm missing?? After seeing this I have question how to get servo ready signal into linuxcnc so it doesn't go in false operation. How to interlock servo state ??
2) Servo encoder are absolute with battery backup. I search throughout but I'm clueless how to get absolute system working on Is there any relevant information? Throw some light
3) Machine is Gantry type so I'm confused how to adjust gantry right angle (aka tramming) with absolute encoders??
Thanks

The link to google drive image at the top is outdated(broken) maybe should be switched to the linuxcnc.org/downloads/ since it has the newest image you have created (thanks!)

Hi rodw
congratulations for the magnificent work!
I wanted to point out something strangeI installed the ISO linuxcnc.org/downloads/ after the first upgrade, I get this error:
repeated the installation three times but nothing changes.
This does not affect the installation of the EtherCAT repositories
but it persists
I tried with a standard installation
with Iso Debian Bookworm and everything works fine
thank you so much

Can you please post the result of
lsb_release -a
Thank you.
To fix the update issue:
forum.linuxcnc.org/9-installing-linuxcnc...-update-error#289920
But do read also the post below as there is a typo on that post.

Deleted - wrong thread. Moved to new thread about wiring EtherCAT Delta servo absolute encoder.

@jjdege
This does not appear to be anything to worry about. The RT kernel errors on an update to the net version but all other packages seem to get installed.
I replicated this yesterday as it was reported by another user.
@everybody, please don't raise issues on this thread that are not related to ethercat installation. Add another thread in the appropriate forum section.
