Voltage looks good as well. Getting 4.9 volts at encoders and 23.9 volts at vin.

Precise Z axis homing reference

Category: CNC Machines

There are ways to use homing to index with an added
proximity switch that detects a flag on the stepper shaft.
(this does not require an encoder)

A flag on the shaft with a 1" radius will increase the homing
accuracy by a factor of about 30 (assuming 5mm/0.2" pitch
ballscrew and same linear and flag proximity switches)

Nothing happens when I move the encoder or the amplifier. It’s like the rest are not active except encoder 2 port. It flickers but does not read properly it just shows some change.

OK that looks OK so the 7I92T I/O is likely OK

If you simply move the encoder plug from 7I77 encoder input 0 and
plug into encoder input 1, (drives disabled) Does the encoder 1 position
change when you rotate the encoder 0 motor shaft?

Also for encoder 2

What does it read?

If you watch GPIO 7..16  in the halshow watch tab, do they change/ flicker
when you rotate the shaft?

Joint/axis velocity in the ini file
max_velocity
That will be once on versions prior to 2.8 and twice in joint and axis for versions above 2.8.
Might also need to change the max_angular_velocity in the display section of the ini file.

Increase A axis speed, but maintain proper scale?

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Hello,

I have an Amazon 4th axis that features a 6:1 reduction drive.

I found the thread here where you adjust the SCALE so that a G0 A360 will turn the axis a proper 360°.

However, the drive spins too slowly.

I can double the SCALE, which gives me the speed I want, but then I have to do something like G0 A180 for a full turn.

Is there a way I can speed the drive up, while maintaining proper scale?

In that case

mesaflash --addr 10.10.10.10 --device=ETHER --rpo 0x1000

should work

(with 7I77 disconnected)

I also bought lm331 to convert current from a dc spindle... I made a small circuit, but I haven't tried it for almost a year because my brother had serious health problems. I'll try in a few days, maybe we can help each other.
