Probe tripped during non-probe move

Category: Basic Configuration

Hey, thank you for your insights. They can definitely be helpful. I solved the problem bit differently and if someone will ever need that I will just post it here:

I did set the digital output pin and connected it together with the actual probing trigger using AND component. So basically in .hal it looks like that:
net probe-enable motion.digital.out-00 => and2.0.in0 # Sets and2.0.in0 based on M64 / M65
net near-window near.0.out => and2.0.in1 # Sets and2.0.in1 if sensor is in probing window range: near.0.out
net gated-probe and2.0.out => motion.probe-input

M64 P0              # sets digital output pin P0 to TRUE: enable probing
G38.3 Z-180 F150    # Do the probing movement
M65 P0              # sets digital output pin P0 to FALSE: disable probing

Maybe it's not the cleanest solution, but at least it works :)

New to linuxcnc, basic question for DRO modes with encoded handwheels

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Based on what im reading, it does seem ill need a larger card to handle all the limit switches and 3 encoders, one for each hand-wheel. I will prob go RJ45 as the parallel ports are less and less these days.

Thinking this guy, not cheap but one stop shop correct?

GUI that somewhat resembles haas or fanuc workflow.

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Is the Fanuc style of Gcodes display really better then linuxcnc's?

Not in my opinion.

There are quite a few characteristics with Fanuc (and other commercial offerings) which are user-unfriendly compared to LCNC.  The gcode display is a good example of that.

Another one I hate is when my Fanuc 21TB removes the tool offset when I switch from MDI to jogging and then to some other mode.
