Those timings should work with almost any drive.

Vertical layout gui

Category: Other User Interfaces

Hello, does anybody know if there is a good looking vertical layout gui including some features like toolchanger, probing, etc. I know there is some development currently going on to create a vertical probe_basic which would be wonderful but i dont think there is a tested and working version yet.

At20 modbus communication

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Hello, im thinking about buying this at20 vfd and im wondering if anyone knows if there is a already a plugin to control it by modbus. Down below i linked to the manual. the parameter addresses are located at page 173-178. If there isnt already a plugin made for this specific protocol i would really appriciate some guidance to get started programming it myself.
Any information is helpful. Regards Philip

Real-time kerel not detected on patched 6.12

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

OK,
There still seems to be patches required for RT.
One does include the above mentioned patch and the other does touch on what I mentioned but this depends of KVM being disabled.
So I would guess that the patches here:
www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/projects/rt/6.12/
Would be correct for 6.12.8 ?

Which include the patch that allows Linuxcnc to detect a RT kernel and also allows the selection of a fully preemtible kernel.

One 2.4M resistor in series to the negative lead will give you a 250V full scale range
which should be OK

If you post up the wiring a d function diagrams for your tool changer i could help, but it's more complicated than just hooking up hal pins

I see a lot of talk regarding enabling expert, that’s a sub menu with quite a few options, non relating to enabling a fully preemptible kernel.
The mod to the kconfig is a switch, as far as I can see, that the platform is RT capable.

Help configuring RTeligent R86 driver

Category: Milling Machines

The user guide offers very little in the way of specs on timing of Step/Dir signals and isn't listed in the Driver drop-down in MesaCT.

Could anyone give me some advice for the following settings:

MAX_VELOCITY = 20
MAX_ACCELERATION = 50
DRIVE = Custom
STEP_INVERT = False
DIR_INVERT = False
STEPGEN_MAX_VEL = 24.00
STEPGEN_MAX_ACC = 60.00
DIRSETUP = 5000
DIRHOLD = 5000
STEPLEN = 2000
STEPSPACE = 2000
ENCODER_SCALE =

I think Rob mentioned in another thread that he had one of these and I'm trying to rule out any timing mis-configuration as I figure how hum much damage I did to my 9i95T board.

Personally, i would think they should provide it publicly... but still, they were selling the full PathPilot on a USB stick for 35$, so i can not be angry at them.

I actually asked them. They wanted me to send a $10 cheque to some address. I did. After a few weeks they told me they never received it.
Then they gave me a second address. I sent another cheque to that address. USPS bounced back the mail as the address was invalid.

I'm also only interested in reviewing their TP changes, I couldn't care less about their GUI.

Grotius, could you please consider sharing the emc sources (the src/emc directory)? The GPL grants you this right.

Solved - LinuxCNC does not work with new Delta ASDA-A2 drive

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Hello @tommylight, thank you for your suggestion.

I'm off the machine at the moment, and working through the Delta documentation and build notes from back then. I suspect that the backup parameters file might be wrong, I'll check tomorrow by downloading the X axis parameters first to compare.

Thanks again

Related question on these servo drivers, I have noticed that they share the same .xml file in the download section (Link below) for any power from 100W to 1 Kw. The settings for LCNC are all the same for any model of servo driver? where can I find info to understand what's inside this .xml file?
