Mesa Analog Vs Step Dir

Category: Driver Boards

Short question, will I see a 7i85s card in the halshow pins or will the Stepgen and additional encoder show up under the 7i97?

I modified my config line to:
loadrt hm2_eth board_ip="192.168.1.121" config="num_encoders=8 num_pwmgens=6 num_stepgens=4"

Ein Switch für beides -Home und Endschalter auf beiden Seiten

Category: Deutsch

Versuchs mal so:
net limit-home-y  <= hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.input-06  => joint.1.neg-lim-sw-in => joint.1.pos-lim-sw-in => joint.1.home-sw-in

DIe Verknüpfung bisher sieht so aus:# --- MIN-HOME-Y ---net min-home-y <= hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.input-06
Kann ich den gleichen Eingang jetzt als max-Y definieren? (offenbar nicht, da gibts die Fehlermeldung "...hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.input-06' was already linked to signal 'min-home-y'")

Danke für Eure  Antwort dazu!
Arno

REMAP M6 ERROR

Have you homed the machine?

This looks like you might need to clear some offsets (or touch-off) so that the machine thinks it is inside the working area.

No, the error appears when the remap instruction is executed in the INI, if this instruction is commented out, the error no longer appears.

pncconf in master supports the 7C81

To use older pncconf with the 7C81 you can make
a configuration with similar hardware (stepgens PWMgens etc)
 and then change the driver name in the .hal file
and card name in the .ini file.

So for example to make a simple step/dir setup
you could choose a 5I25 and prob_rxf2
 then change the:

 loadrt hm2_pci xxxxx

 line in the hal file to:

loadrt hm2_rpspi xxxxx

and the

CARD0=hm2_5i25.0

line in the .ini file

to

CARD0=hm2_7c81.0

Axis GUI can be made to work in portrait mode nicely, and QtPlasmaC has a portrait mode in several sizes.
QtDragon will probably need some editing in QtDesigner to work in portrait mode as i do not recall seing it here.

Hello,
Thank you for your help. I have managed to enable SPI.
sudo mesaflash --device 7c81 --addr /dev/spidev0.0 --spi --readhmid, now shows that the card is present.
I probably will update to another Pin-configuration for the Mesacard.
How can I use the hm2_rpspi driver? I wanted to build my machine config with the  PNCconf  Wizard and then modify the .hal and .ini files for more things which are outside the capabilities of the Wizard.
Maybe someone can give me a push in the right direction?
I a have little experience with LinuxCNC and Linux in general.
Also I have used xrdp remote client to access the PC headless and it is giving me trouble. If I install it it works fine, but when I restart the setup the screen shows some distorted mess of pixels. Maybe someone has an idea what goes wrong there?

QTDragon GUI working on a portrait mode monitor

Category: Qtvcp

Hey guys are title says, wondering if anyone has had luck running QTdragon on a vertical monitor as when I try most of it is cut off the screen and full screening with F11 or trying to resize it makes it worse.

If this is not possible is there a LinuxCNC GUI that works well with this set up?

Thanks guys :D

Qtdragon for lathe??

Category: Qtvcp

Hello,
I have just started working with LCNC and I am therefore an absolute beginner.
I have found the files for qtdragon lathe on github (share/qtvcp/screens/qtdragon_lathe).
Unfortunately, it is completely unclear to me where I have to copy these files and which adjustments are necessary so that I can start qtdragon_lathe. Maybe someone can name the necessary steps.
Best regards

unable to adjust servo spindle speed

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

i've been taking a look at this page wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?SpindleOrientation. what would i have to change to get this to work with my setup? Obviously, where it says "board" i would have to insert my board, but what other changes would i have to make to it to get to work with my 7i96s with servo spindle? i did notice i needed to change the port numbers in the file to match my board. is there anything specific i need to configure to make this work? Thank you for all your help btw.

WOW  4Kg is a lot of weight for a couple 2213 motors and 10" props to get into the air. That said you definitely
wouldn't be worried about the wind. You would probably need the wind to get off the ground. I will admit my
expertise in such matters is limited. If it were me I would probably go with a delta wing or a flying wing design so
it would cut through the air nicely and still give lots of lift for the weight. The old Avro Vulcan bomber would
give a good starting point. Lots of wing area . At that point though one would need to think about what size
servos and or how many to use per control surface.  For my stuff I am staying in the under 1Kg region.
For now anyway. LOL
