Ich habe  LinuxCNC 2.9.4 Debian 12 Buchwurm PREEMPT-RT ISO neu installiert
und bekomme von  Sudo apt Upgrade eine Fehlermeldung:

 Ich habe auf einen Zweiten Rechner Linuxcnc installiert  und bekomme die selbe Fehlermeldung

was soll ich tun

I have enter this setup but there is communication problem.
In thw VFD display seems F399.9 message, and the CB1241 in S7 1200 blink TX and RX leds slow
What can I do please?

The w5500 plugin already works, you can use RIO on this board without the ARM core. Only problem is, i don't know how to write the bitfile permanently to the flash.
JTAG can only write to RAM

yes, the reason i was looking into LwIP maybe it can act as w5500 or eth2spi bridge so RIO can be ran natively. hopefully my jtag arrives soon and hopefully it will have correct eeprom compared to my last one, so i can finally start doing something practical instead of just being theoretical.

Network works under linux, LwIP is only needed if you do baremetal programming without the linux OS.

you need to use rio.enc0.position, this is the floating point value.

there is no raw value without scale calculation, but if you really need one, i will check to add it

When I tested the encoder plugin I found that the indicated position seemed to be the number of revolutions. When the encoder rotated one revolution, the position increased by one number. I was sure that my scale configuration was correct because the rpm displayed the correct value. I let the motor run at 100rpm and the encoder plugin displayed about 100rpm. My encoder came from the simulated encoder of the servo motor driver.

Your 7i96s is perfectly capable of driving at least 10 axis.

The process is
Use mesaflash to upload the 7i96 5bob firmware. That will allow you to use the additional axis.

I've done this with 2 separate installs and no issues.

Another question, maybe not the ideal place for it, but let me give it a shot:)

Found a T470 with a touchscreen, just need seller to confirm a few things before pulling the trigger on it.
[EDIT] Done, I bought it. Will take a few weeks before I get my hands on it though. 

Anyhow, I need it to dual boot as I also need Windows for a few things. Especially to run some servo tuning software for Delta and maybe Panasonic. Now, if I need to start messing with turning things off in the BIOS to make the T470 work for LCnc (I am on Mesa cards, so maybe I don't) will that also affect the Windows partition or would that be separate? My paranoia is that somehow, I will be limiting how well the laptop would work in Windows mode. That said, I don't know if servo tuning needs anything particular that BIOS modding could mess with.

What is the goal here?

Two completely separate CNC machines?
Are you just trying to have 1 computer running 2 machines?

Just buy a 2nd computer. Second hand business machines work fine

Ahh, that may be a master only option for stepconf and not in 2.9.4

If stepconf is standalone (I think it is) you should be able to just use the latest:

 

( rename to stepconf and chmod +x stepconf )

I've done this with a CNC plasma..... It's not too bad from the linuxcnc setup side of things. The hardest part is generating the gcode to do what you want. it's not too bad (programs like a lathe most of the time).
