THCUD

Category: Advanced Configuration

I am going to use THCUD component.

Before the actual installation of the machine, I need to test the performance. What pins are mandatory to connect (UP DOWN from sensor is obvious)? How to set the velocity to for testing?

Well I connected the sensor and up & down relay is working fine.

But I am stuck in connecting hal pins.

As per the thcud documentation, "thcud.z-pos-in" to be conncetd to "axis.z.motor-pos-cmd". But in halshow, no such pin exist.
There is "axis.z.pos-cmd" and "joint.2.motor-pos-cmd". Please suggest correct connection.

In addition kindly suggest the connection for "thcud.z-pos-out" and "thcud.z-fb-out"

Halfile & ini file attached.

Thanks in advance for any help.

THCUD is an old component and probably predates the release of Version 2.8 where joints were separated from axes. Use the axis.z.pos-cmd.

QTplasmac has rewritten the book about plasma in recent years. I doubt anybody is still using THCUD.

Ohmic sensing with Mesa Thcad2

Category: General LinuxCNC Questions

Hi,
It was mentioned that there is a special bit file for the 7i96S to use a second encoder channel if one wants to do ohmic sensing with a Thad2 and the 7i96S?
I looked at the ZIP file with all the support bit files but I a cannot decode the bit file names to tell me what to use? Anyone got some info please?

You may need to update your copy of mesaflash.

I get:

peter@peter-HP-EliteDesk-800-G1-USDT:~/bitfiles$ mesaflash --device 7i96s --addr 10.10.10.10 --write 7i96s_dpl.bin --reload

Oh ok. Didn't realize that. We should ask the gents to put the latest in master at least.
Do I have to download and compile?

choosing a resistor for THCAD-10

Category: Plasmac

If you put a 2.4MΩ resistor in each leg it would give you 49:1
and 1MΩ in each leg giving a 21:1 ratio.
i want to know how many resistor watts do you need.

2 of 1 Mohm resistors should do just fine, one on each leg. 2W type just to be safe.
