Probing setup was created by tecno
This is what I have in HAL and I want to keep it that way = having separate inputs for the probes.
# external input signals
# --- TS27R contact tool setting probe ---
net probe1-in     <=  hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.input-04

# --- MP10 probe system ---
net probe2-in     <=  hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.input-06

What is needed to have this working with 2 probes on separate inputs. 2.7.14 here.

Cheers

I'm not sure what you are trying to do. For my old plasma system I just connected the two probe sources together with an OR2 component and polled the inputs to see which one was active. The other way to do it is to use a mux_generic component and only connect the source you are interested in to the motion.probe-input.

John,
mux is the way to go. Worst case for me is when I need to measure the MP10 for length on the TS27R as they are close in force.

But how do one do the *choose* of probe in Gmoccapy?

You will need to make a custom button on the GUI and make the connections in your .hal file. Carefully read all the Gmoccapy docs and wikis. I actually built custom tabs that go behind the preview screen for some of my plasma stuff and replaced parts on the main GUI. I have seem discussions on adding custom buttons to both the right side and bottom of the main UI. I have only actually made whole GladeVCP panels so I haven't just added a button. There are others here who know much more about this than I do, maybe Norbert will chime in on where to find instructions. Actually studying any documentation on GladeVCPs will not hurt as that is how UI will be edited. You may get lucky and find an example built by someone else.

The easiest way is to build a glade panel using the glade editor and add to that one the hal button yiu need, imho just two radiobutton will do the job.

Done the panel just embed it at the place you like, allowed locations are explained in the gmoccapy documentation. Please take care to make the hal connections to the custom panel in a separate hal file and load that hal file with the embedding command!!

You can look at the sim configs of gmoccapy for examples, as i did add some panels with sim configs.

Last not least, report success!

Well, you could set up a physical switch on an input and attach that to your mux select pin... in Hal.

Done some testing today and there is some more force to trig the probe compared to tool probe so these two will share same input.
