Yes, but how easy it might be will depend on the hardware your simulating.

It is quite easy to simulate a parallel port config. (In fact Stepconfig has a check box for it.)

Is there a simple SIM config so I can play with, add PoKeys55.
Have installed
forum.linuxcnc.org/24-hal-components/298...keys?start=90#162953

X/Y/Z/A
x1, x0.1, x0.01

Analog Feed
Analog Speed

MPG

Would like to play with this with my laptop and not in relatively cold workshop.

Any help would be appreciated. (this MPG project started 2011 or so)

I would suggest starting with sim->axis->mm

Then try out your Pokeys additions to that, all in a new HAL file that is added to the INI file.

Then you can (probably) transfer that HAL file to your real machine.

OK, thanks Andy.

Is there any hal file to be found with PoKeys I/O's that I can have look at?

Not in the sample configs. There might be something on the forum.

Been poking around this hornets nest for a couple of days and I get nowhere except if I program matrix keys with macros as a keyboard key.

All functions I have in Win work but now in LCNC nothing!!!!!

ESTOP works in Win
2 analog 11-pos swithes work in Win
MPG works in Win
LCD and LED work in win

As step one I would like to get the easiest parts to work ESTOP and Analog.

@tecno,

have a look in the gmoccapy Sim folder, there is a gmoccapy with simulated hardware like an mpg or even hardware button, so it might be a good start to build your own simulated hatdware.
