What is this?
Located in your plasma.hal :
setp hm2_7i96.0.dpll.01.timer-us -50
It looks like a timer with a negative value of -50 nano seconds?
Watchdog is 5 million nano second's?
Okey i understand stepgen control type = 1.
Nice you have no error's moving around. Keep up the good work !!
Next item would be to connect your z axis. Read about Tom's stepper solution for z axis.

My NC float switch is presenting a bit of a problem, I can't put it as in-not without linuxcnc error "pin doesn't exist".
I'll change it to NO for now, see if it has any problems. A potential fix is welcome however.

That's fine for the DPLL, it's a relative timing.

The pin name is blah.blah.blah.in_not note underscore, not dash
Now that you have a configuration running, you might consider using "halshow" or "halcmd show pin"
to get the names of all available pins, there really is no reason to guess these names since LinuxCNC can
list them for you

Too late to change it now, but it probably would be more consistent as a dash.

I started going through my machine and setting up the Proma 150 according to Tommy's instructions - link below
During the Proma's "test", it was showing an inconsistent ARC-OK and wasn't jogging the Z axis up and down at all.

To forego PCW's ire, I've taken to hal config to sort out my Z axis (starting to get the hang of it).
So far the only working portions of my Z axis is pos-cmd. Since I know the general problem, I'm keep diving into the joint 3 connections and see if I can't figure out where the failed connection is

I don't think PCW has any ire, he seems extraordinarily patient.
I, on the other hand, get quite sarcastic at times.
