If you have a copy of a working config then yes, it should work.

So do I just go straight to adding plasmac?

Yeah, it is worth a try.

That got it working, thanks.

So I got plasmac up and running, etc. Cut a new test piece (2"x2" square, using the wizard in plasmac again) and guess what? SAME issue. I marked the piece with the measurements, it's getting about .030" off from one side to the other. This is using a regular desktop PC now (MUCH better latency, like in a different universe better!). I'm attaching the .zip for the whole machine this time. This is crazy.

Simulation of the cut is perfect, but when actually cut (or with the plasma powered down) it gets that step every time the wizard is used, and every time a cut is done from a file - like a part. Not only is this a fresh PC, but this is also a from scratch installation of master branch as well. This is only using the same config linuxcnc directory as the other machine used. All belts are good and tight, mechanically I've been going over the machine all week...it's good to go. And with Tommy's simple gcode square, it cuts a perfect square every time without the missing step.

Edit: I wrote 2.xxx" on the square, but it's 1.xxx".

?????????
What the h.......
Did you try to do a round shape, not from the wizard, use inkscape, draw a circle, path>object to path, extensions>gcodetools>path to gcode, open in LinuxCNC.

I haven't forgotten about you asking me this. I didn't have Inkscape installed at the time. I've downloaded it today and tried it, but I need to set up the tool and whatnot. So now I need to learn another software on top of needing to learn linux lol. And with orders still not being cut.

I wonder if it's the preamble M codes throwing something off. When they are omitted it seems to cut just fine.

I did post the complete code for a circle just after that post, so use that to test.
And you can thank me later for Inkscape, it is by far the easiest and quickest for doing "not to complicated" stuff.

Well so much for thanking you now for it then :P

It's been on my list (I think it would work great and easier/faster than Fusion 360 for lots of sign work), but I may need to move it up to the top on priority if it'll cut my files for customers that I have pending right now.

P.S.

Thanks!

Quick question about this circle code...

What size circle is it (I can't tell from looking, I can convert it easily - need to make sure I have large enough space on material available)? Is it something like 50mm?

Not surprised with the result...and I cut #1 using sheetcam pp to generate code (I don't think sheetcam is the issue, it's something in the controller), #2 using the gcode you provided Tommy. I think we are getting somewhere, although I don't know where LOL.
