You need to be in your home directory then for an upgrade type:
Edit: I do have a fix so it can be run from anywhere, I'll probably push it sometime this week.
$ python linuxcnc/configs/your_config_directory/configurator.py

You are still at the catch22 phase.
The Configurator won't have a link in your config directory until you have run the Configurator in the source directory.
While you are in your home directory run python /usr/share/doc/linuxcnc/examples/sampke-configs/by_machine/plasmac/Configurator.py

Still failing with :- no such file or directory
just for clarity I spotted a spelling error in the above in sample-configs.
Would it help if I zipped my config folder and posted it.

Actually there were two mistakes, a product of trying to operate a 'smart'phone.
sampke should be sample
Configurator.py should be configurator.py
Can you send a directory list of /usr/share/doc/linuxcnc/examples/sample-configs/by_machine/plasmac/
I am sure you have a buildbot install.
If not then the correct directory would be ~/linuxcnc-dev/configs/by_machine/plasmac/

Phill You are a star. I went back to the machine this morning and tried again after looking in the plasmac folder and noticed the spelling of configurator.py. It was the cap. C that fooled me.
I now have the "extra's tab" so I take it that is the latest version. Many thanks for your continued support.
